3 Day / 2 Night Tour
Travel Australia's Dinosaur Trail visiting dinosaur attractions in Richmond and Hughenden. Travel to Hughenden to see Muttaburrasaurus and to Richmond to see large marine fossils, learn where to find and how to identify fossils and try your hand at fossil hunting for your own collection.
INCLUDES:
A low to medium level of fitness and medium agility is required for this tour.
We recommend doing this package as an EXTENSION to the Winton Explorer Package which is from Sunday night accommodation to Thursday breakfast.

- A deposit of 10% per person is payable upon booking. The balance is due 60 days prior to departure.
- All bookings must be confirmed and paid for 60 days prior to departure.
- Please book early - if we haven't achieved minumum numbers 2 months prior to departure, then unfortunately we will either have to cancel the tour, or offer the tour for just 3 people for a higher fee (sgl $2330/dbl $2130).

ITINERARY
Day 1 – Thursday: To Richmond (LD)
Travel north through grazing grasslands to the town of Richmond - home of marine fossils dating back 100 million years. This afternoon we visit Australia’s premier marine fossil museum, Kronosaurus Korner. You’ll also have the opportunity to dig for marine fossils at one of Richmond’s fossil dig sites. See how palaeontologists find and dig these massive creatures out of the ground before you try your hand at it!
Overnight at Ammonite Inn, Richmond.
Day 2 - Friday: Richmond-Hughenden-Winton (BLD)
This morning, we head east to Hughenden, home to Mutt the Muttaburrasaurus. We’ll visit the Flinders Discovery Centre, see Mutt the life-sized replica dinosaur and local fossils. After lunch we head back to Winton, have an early dinner and then transfer to the Gondwana Stars Observatory for the tour to explore the night sky.
Overnight at Winton Outback Motel, Winton.
Day 6 - Saturday: Winton To Longreach (B)
We return to Longreach in time for transfers to the Longreach Airport for your flight to Brisbane, or to your Longreach accommodation.
Note: The package concludes on Saturday. If you intend to stay longer in Longreach you will need to book your own accommodation and activities. This tour does not include museums located in Longreach.

§ Qantaslink fly to Longreach once a day from/to Brisbane
§ Tour departure transfers connect with flights for Longreach departure on Saturday at ~12.30pm.
§ The start of the package is in Winton. To get to Winton on Wednesday:
- fly to Longreach (Qanataslink) and then Winton (Rex) on Tuesday;
- fly to Longreach on Wednesday and then catch the RailBus to Winton on Wednesday night,
- fly to Longreach on Tuesday, overnight in Longreach then catch the Greyhound Bus on Wednesday morning.
Train:
§ The Spirit of the Outback train departs Brisbane on Saturday and Tuesday, arriving Sunday and Wednesday respectively.
§ If you choose to arrive by train, please book through to Winton and catch the Rail Connect Bus (Rail Bus) that travels from Longreach to Winton. On departure you will need to book additional accommodation in Longreach for the train departure on Monday morning.

- 60+ days = no cancellation fee
- 7-59 days = $50 per person
- 0-6 days = $250 per person
- If you need to leave the tour due to illness or emergency, then we will refund any unused portions of the tour less any costs incurred from third party suppliers.
