By Train: Catch the Spirit of the Outback train from Brisbane to Winton! The train stops in Longreach and a Rail Connect Bus will transport you the final 180km.
So book all the way to/from Winton!! The train departs twice a week from Brisbane:
1. DepartsBrisbane on Saturday - arrives Longreach and Winton on Sunday afternoon.
2. Departs Brisbane on Tuesday - arrives Longreach and Winton on Wednesday evening.
On its return, the Rail Bus leaves Winton to connect with the train departure in Longreach on Monday and Thursday.
By Air: REX Airlines comes from Townsville to Winton twice a week - Tuesday and Thursday. The route they take is Townsville-Winton-Longreach-Winton-Townsville in the day. If you are in Brisbane, catch the Qantaslink flight from Brisbane to Longreach and then change planes and fly REX from Longreach to Winton.
