Bladensburg National Park Half Day TourOne of the original properties in the Winton region, Bladensburg National Park is steeped in grazing history as well as history of the First Nations people. We explore some of the old station buildings – the old homestead and shearing shed – before driving to some of the more rugged landscape locations of the National Park. We drive to the top of the jump-up to see Scrammy Gorge and then walk (or drive) along the creek to a permanent waterhole – both contrasting with the surrounding environment. The rugged beauty and rock formations as well as diverse ecosystems make this a wonderful drive!

More about Bladensburg National Park... Bladensburg was one of the original sheep stations around the Winton area in the 1870's. Part of this station was surrendered for a National Park in 1984 and a further area added in 1994 - totalling nearly 85,000 hectares. Bladensburg National Park is home to nearly every ecosystem we have in the Winton region - black soil plains with Mitchell Grass downs, riverine channel country, clay pans, jump up country, water holes etc. But it is also home to endangered animal species and is rich with European and Indigenous histories.
