There are two dinosaur attractions in the Winton region and we run tours to each of these, but not to both in the one day.
1. Dinosaur Stampede - at Lark Quarry Conservation Park - The only known evidence of a dinosaur stampede any where in the world. Approximately 3300 footprints preserved in mud ~95 million years ago. This site is 110km south west of Winton along a local road with approximately 50km of dirt. We run two different tours to this location but each includes a visit to private property (working cattle stations) to enjoy spectacular landscape and history. Choose from a day tour (8.30am - 4.00pm) or a 3/4 day tour (9.00am - 3.45pm).
2. Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum - This museum is located just 24km to the east of Winton (on the Longreach road). The road is all bitumen to this museum. Once there, there are three different sections to the museum spread across the jump-up which you can only see on the museums guided tours. Each section has a museum guide to provide specialist information.
Of course, you CAN drive yourself to these museums, but here are 5 reasons why you may choose not to:

- You can leave the car or motorhome in Winton and sit back and relax for the day. Let someone else do the driving so you can actually see the countryside.
- You'll hear about the local flora, fauna and history along the way. All tours have informative commentary by our experienced and personable guides.
- You get to ask all those questions you've been wondering as you've been driving along the outback roads.
- We take you onto private property (on some tours) and places where you can't go if you drive yourself. And we know all the good spots and hidden gems!
- Travelling on dirt roads can be taxing on your vehicle - and sometimes those roads are not in good condition. One cheeky tour group a few years ago declared a new tag line for the business "Why wreck your car when I can take mine instead!"
