Rangelands Rifts
The Rangelands Rifts are rocky chasms that have been eroded away by water and wind. Water eroded away the harder rock at the top creating a thin cracj, until the crack reached the softer rocks underneath. Here the water was not only eroding downwards but also eating away at the sides, creating a much wider crack at the bottom. |

Birds
The Winton region is home to some fairly rare and exciting birds - for every level of bird watcher. From flocks of budgies, spinifex pigeons and brolgas to the more elusive Rusty Grasswren, Rufous-crowned Emu-wren and the Grey Falcon. Vicki is an avid birdwatcher and photographer so knows the good spots to go and what is in season. Enjoy the slides of her bird photos! |
